  • 8 hot dogs
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Hot Dog Chili:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 12 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar

  • In a slow cooker combine all of the ingredients for the hot dog chili except for the ground beef. Mix well. Stir the ground beef into the spice mixture in the slow cooker. Cover and cook for 1 1/2 – 2 hours on high or 3 hours on low. Once it has finished cooking stir the mixture in the slow cooker to break up the ground beef.
  • Heat the hot dogs by boiling them in water until hot. Remove from the water and place a hot dog onto a bun, top with chili and shredded cheddar cheese.
