Chinese Fried Pork Wontons are full of delicious flavor and are always a hit in our house. They are actually very easy to make and are a great side dish to serve with Chinese-inspired meals. You may want to cut the recipe in half if you are serving it as a side dish for four or less people. The wonton wrappers add a great crunch and the meat inside is super tender. You can feel free to wrap the wonton wrappers how ever you wish, but I find that the method described is the quickest and best way to make sure no oil seeps into the mixture while frying. You can dip them in your favorite sauce, but they are also super yummy by themselves. From the Monster Foodies to you—love what you eat and enjoy!
Chinese Fried Wontons
Chinese fried wontons with pork.
Ingredients
- ½ lb ground pork
- 1 tbsp minced green onion
- 2 eggs divided
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, green onion, 1 egg, salt, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and water using either your hands or a spoon.
- Crack remaining egg into a small bowl and mix. Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface and line outer 4 edges with egg. Put about 1 tsp of the pork mixture in the center of the wonton wrapper, then pull all the sides of the wrapper over the mixture, and pinch together the top, making a small twist. It will look like a small sphere with a twisted stick at the top. Seal the twisted portion well with egg.
- Deep fry for about 3-4 minutes in small batches, until the pork is cooked and the wrappers are golden brown. Drain on either a rack or paper towel to soak up the excess oil.
